10 Reasons Why Social Media is Good for Business

You may ask yourself the question, why would your business want to use social media? Will it benefit my business? Have we got the time?  Well, all of these are very good questions, and we hope to answer these for you in our below blog post.

With platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest, you’ve got a whole variety of platforms to share your voice and generate tremendous online exposure for your brand.

With over 53% of the world’s population online, it’s a ‘no brainer’ really if you are looking to grow your business and tap into this new potential audience to promote your brand or service.

At CM Ventures, we believe every business should have a social presence.  Social media should form part of your marketing strategy. It helps you connect with your customers, increase your brand awareness in an effort to raise awareness and boost sales.

In short it:

  1. Increases brand and front of mind awareness
  2. Increases brand loyalty & recognition
  3. It’s cost-effective
  4. Simple to use
  5. It builds trust
  6. Creates a voice and personality for your brand
  7. Provides you with real-time results

Hubspot has put together a handy guide outlining 75 Essential Social Media Marketing Statistics for 2021. It really does prove for some interesting reading.

Some of the pull out stats for us are:

  • Over 50% of (SMEs) small to medium enterprises businesses aren’t using social media to promote their business
  • 90% of people on Instagram follow a business
  • 73% of marketers believe that their social media marketing has been “somewhat effective” or “very effective” for their business
  • LinkedIn has more than 722 million active users in over 200 countries worldwide
  • Videos get 21.2% more interactions compared to images and 18.6% more interactions compared to carousels

There is a considerable difference between the platforms, though. Every platform has a unique audience, so it’s best to understand your tone of voice for each social media platform.

This is how we like to explain.

Influencer marketing is huge too – essentially is engaging with some (or even just one) person that has rather a large following to promote your brand. We’re seeing a massive increase in this in 2021. Actually, the report above states, 98% of marketers said that Instagram is the most influential platform for influencer marketing, which is 44% higher than Facebook.

Before you consider using social media for your business, it’s important to understand a few things before setting off on your social media journey. Things such as Do you know your customers? Do you know who your competitors are, and have you researched them? Have you got the time to plan, create and post your social media posts?

It’s critical that your business has an effective social media strategy that helps you reach your intended audience.

We can help with all of that.
